1 Corinthians 6:9–11 (ESV): 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
- Sexually immoral and fornicators
- Idolaters who worship false gods
- Adulterers who break marital vows
- Men who practice homosexuality or male prostitutes
- Thieves and robbers
- The greedy and covetous
- Drunkards enslaved to alcohol
- Revilers or cursers who insult others
- Swindlers and extortioners
Galatians 5:19–21 (ESV): 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Sexual Sins: Sexual immorality, impurity, and sensuality.
- False Worship: Idolatry and sorcery (or witchcraft). (witcraft-phamakeia)
- Relational Conflict: Enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, and envy.
- Intemperance: Drunkenness and orgies (or carousing).
(Paul uses this part of his letter to Galatia to contrast the actions of the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Jesus follower, the Fruits of the Spirit.)
Proverbs 11:21 (NRSV): 21 Be assured, the wicked will not go unpunished,
but those who are righteous will escape.
Matthew 13:41–42 (NLT): 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
